Feldrand – Your Hiking Hotel in the Sarntal Valley

The happiness of the mountains

With its rich green meadows, spruce forests and around 140 stately peaks, the Sarntal Valley is a quiet area for Alpine hiking. Pleasure hikers and families as well as experienced mountaineers will find their ideal at the hiking hotel in the Sarntal Valley in the north of Italy. For example, the hikes to the Ebenbergalm mountain hut, to the Kratzberger See lake (2,150 m), to the Hurler mountain (2,400 m) and to the Weißhorn peak (2,705 m). A true highlight for mountain enthusiasts: the Hirzer mountain (2,800 m), the highest peak of the Sarntal Alps.

The Sagenweg Trail at Sonvigo

Enjoy hiking and at the same time immerse yourself in the rich Sarntal Valley world of local legends – this is the idea behind the Sarntal Valley Sagenweg legend trail, designed by the pupils of the Sonvigo/Aberstückl primary school. Trail no. 13 leads in around 45 minutes from the Wippingerhof farm in Sonvigo, through the forest and then across Alpine meadows to the Durralm mountain hut. Along the way, boards convey South Tyrolean legends to hikers, such as those of Pfeifer Huisele, the great magician with the cat sled.

Mountain Biking through the Sarntal Valley

The most beautiful thing about biking in the quiet Sarntal Valley? Here, you can cycle early in the morning all alone on old mule tracks up to the mountain pastures. The hut owners are themselves picturesque, the views breathtaking and the tour possibilities varied. A beautiful route for beginners leads from the Sarentino/Sarnthein church square to the Vöraner Alm mountain hut. Other tours lead to the Hausberger Alm hut or to the magical Stoanerne Mandln.

Adventures on Two Wheels

Masters of the curves, watch out! The idyllic Sarntal Valley is perfect for extended motorcycle tours.
